Maayavan Synopsis: A series of murders is taking place in the city. A cop discovers that all are very similar. He must find the link to the crime and catch the killer before it is too late.
Maayavan movie download Review : CV Kumar, who is also the producer of films such as Pizza, Soodhu Kavvum, and Irudhi Subttru, directs his first film. It’s a gripping thriller that mixes sci-fi with whodunit. Although the film takes a while to get started, once it focuses on the main plot with singleminded devotion, it becomes a thrilling ride.
Kumaran (Sundeep Kishan), an inspector, stumbles upon a crime. He has a near-death experience while trying to capture the criminal. Adhirai (LavanyaTripathi, no lip sync, slightly better expressions) advises him to return to work. However, he freaks out when he sees a murder that is very similar to the one he had just witnessed. How can this be when the killer has already been killed? Two more deaths occur, and Ruthran (Daniel Balaji in the quintessential Daniel Balaji role) becomes the prime suspect. She is a motivational speaker. But are these murders more than what appears?
Maayavan’s best feature is its ability to keep us guessing right up until the end, when it reveals the killer’s method of operation. We sense something is amiss from the very beginning. Ghibran’s moody music only increases the creepiness. The film is able to explain the complex concept well. The script by Nalan Kumarasamy deserves credit. It’s pure pulp, and it is beautiful.
There are also a few false points. Kumaran’s PTSD is shown a lot at the beginning but it gets resolved quickly. The hostage situation and the chase that ensues are very crudely staged. The prologue in 2037 feels unnecessary.
These are minor blunders (or first-timer’s errors). The storytelling is so solid, we’re engaged the whole time.
